The new galleries in the Michael Lee-Chin addition to the Royal Ontario Museum (100 Queen's Park, 416-586-8000, www.rom.on.ca) open from the bottom up over the next year, but we got a sneak peek at the topsy-turvy Patricia Harris Gallery of Textiles and Costumes on the fourth floor on June 11.
A lineup of local fashion labels including David Dixon , Pink Tartan and Joeffer Caoc showed off crystal-inspired frocks in the space. A Comrags little black dress was embellished with angled metallic strips, while Jeremy Laing showed an iridescent malachite-green cocktail look. Guest photographers Alex vs Alex , Graydon Sheppard , Talia Shipman and George Whiteside snapped spontaneous fashion editorials. Maybe we'll see the pics on display when the gallery opens in spring 2008.
