Fashion Week Review: Lundstrom

Lundstrom is real clothing for real women so its runway impact depends on smart styling. Fall 2010’s collection worked best on the fashion week catwalk when it was all layered up (see look seven, a cable knit cardigan worn with a beige tweed jacket, skirt and woolly socks).

There were pieces that stood alone though. A mohair coat impressed in shocking “claret” and the following exit’s topper, a sharp trench with a detachable capelet, had equal impact.

The show opened with outerwear and one lone LaPARKA but it was clear the Lundstrom label wants the sleek eveningwear that came out last to be its new signature. A simple, sequin tunic in inky black and the finale velvet gown dripping with jewellery designer Shay Lowe‘s crystal baubles made sure we got the message.
