Textile designer Bev Hisey has launched a new collection of rugs that play off Toronto’s real estate frenzy. The 6-by-8-foot Housing Market Carpets ($1,800), in light or dark grey, are shaped like the 3D plan of a classic peak-roofed house. If their price tag doesn’t mesh with your own hefty mortgage payments, Hisey’s Everyday Housewife boutique (1066 Dundas West, 416-703-3418, everydayhousewife.ca) carries more affordable upcycled Turkish floor runners in shades of over-dyed turquoise, purple or black.
