Love booth photos at Russet & Empire for the Junction Design Crawl
The Junction will be jumping with design dos this Friday evening (August 24) when the neighbourhood hosts its second annual design crawl.
Interactive art, "multiple eye-gasms" and a crepe station will be on offer at Articulations (2928 Dundas West, 416-901-7464, articulations.ca) for the opening of the Hello World exhibition by The Uncarved Block.
The Scandinavian and Japanese design mecca Mjolk (2959 Dundas West, 416-551-9853, mjolk.ca) officially launches its first, sell-published book featuring travel guides to Stockholm and Reykjavik, interviews with designers Vik Pronsdottir and Lovisa Wattman and workshop tours of some of the studios that create their stock.
A hands-on installation at eyewear spot Opticianado (2919 Dundas West, 416-604-2020, opticianado.com) will let visitors show off their own design chops using Lego, Etch-a-Sketch and Lite-Brite. Friday is also your first opportunity to check out the new optical lineup by industrial designer Dzmitry Samal.

For their first in-store exhibition in almost a year, the team at SMASH (2880 Dundas West, 416-762-3113, smash.to) has collected found objects, landscape images and vintage crime scene photographs from Detroit.
