If you're going to do macarons, you'd better do them right. Otherwise, you end up with too-sweet, depressingly dry monstrosities that you wouldn't feed a dog.
The place that does them right is Nadège. Chef and owner Nadège Nourian claims her delicately crunchy, naturally flavoured little creations last four days, but good luck not eating them within 24 hours.
Check out Nadège's new collaboration with Canadian artists on limited-edition 16-macaron boxes. My personal favourite is local textile designer and illustrator Virginia Johnson's box ($38, 780 Queen West, 416-368-2009, and other, nadege-patisserie.com).
