It’s no secret a lot of people spend a lot of money during Pride. Sure, a good chunk of that goes to support indie businesses in the festival’s core area, but what about other worthy local brands that don’t have a permanent or convenient storefront?
Pink Market enters the scene with its first queer craft/fashion/art/lit fair pop-up on June 27 and 28 at Artscape Youngplace (180 Shaw, studio 107 and 109) from 11 am to 6 pm. The market, run by NOW food writer Natalia Manzocco, is an important stop for those who want to support local artisans.
The list of brands includes Sea & Lake Paper Co., Bush Magazine, Crass Stitches, Playfully Dapper, Bobo Academy and more. Many of the products at the market are queer-themed and sex-positive, so don’t blow your budget on penis-shaped -lollipops before you have a chance to stop by.
