Another Distillery debut
Mark early May in your calendar for the opening of Fluevog's (fluevog.com) new Toronto location in the Distillery District. Details are still being worked out, but the store will have a Victorian vibe to connect the Distillery's past with the turn-of-the-20th-century-inspired touches often found on Fluevog shoes. As for the footwear, we can't wait to shop for spring arrivals like the Arch Angel tassel loafers, Daily Miracles zebra-print booties and a grouping of platform espadrille lace-ups in black, neon yellow or bronze.
More retail launches
Uncle Otis (26 Bellair, 416-920-2281, uncleotis.com) has teamed up with Levi's Made & Crafted (levismadeandcrafted.com) on a shop-in-shop that will be open at the Yorkville menswear store for the spring/summer season. And the newest international retailer to launch e-commerce in Canada is fashion-forward outfit Zara (zara.com). Its Canadian website is now open for shopping, with lots of stylish spring buys, including striped dresses and brogue-style sneakers.
It's been barely a month since Design Week, but we're already craving another opportunity to check out sweet local design. Luckily, MADE's (867 Dundas West, 416-607-6384, madedesign.ca) newest exhibition, Surface Forms, by Scott Eunson, opens March 14. Look for sculptural cellular pieces made from Wilsonart laminate as well as a new pendant light design. The show continues until May 4.
It's a clothing collection!
Pregnancy clothing spot Belly Maternity (615 Mount Pleasant, 416-440-1734, bellymaternity.ca) is proud to announce the birth of its new collection, BELLY. The lineup of wardrobe basics in bright hues includes wrap-style dresses, more formal LBDs, blazers and stretch jersey tops. Find the styles in store now or online at eluxe.ca.
