The week’s news, views and sales

Jumping Junction

This weekend’s Summer Solstice Festival (Saturday, June 22, from noon until midnight) in the Junction includes lots of style happenings.

At menswear spot Gerhard Supply (2949 Dundas West, 416-797-1920, gerhardsupply.tumblr.com), local designers are making personal appearances throughout the day. Over at the corner of Dundas West and Indian Grove, a special Junction Flea night market will be set up from 7 pm to midnight.

Also watch for the furniture sidewalk sale at Cornerstone (2886 Dundas West, 416-767-8170, cornerstonefurniture.ca), 20 per cent off at Pandemonium Books & Discs (2920 Dundas West, 416-769-5257, pandemonium.ca) and special discounts at eco-friendly clothing boutique Natureal (3072 Dundas West, 416-767-3072). Design lovin’

Leslieville decor shop Love the Design (1362 Queen East, 416-408-1727, lovethedesign.com) just opened its second outlet in Rosedale at 1226 Yonge. Like the original store, this location has an eclectic look, with industrial fixtures and handmade wallpaper, but mixed in are some grander furniture pieces perfect for Rosedale residents’ posh pads. Don’t miss owner Christine Flynn’s own resin artwork.
