At a grand total of $4,190.80, our sporty gift guide look is second only to our fancy fashion spread in priciness. But you’re getting some top-of-the-line gear with your splurge. There’s KJUS’s glossy jacket that looks just as sharp après ski as on the hill, and Rossignol’s Radical set of skis and bindings. Our favourite find, though, has to be the POC helmet, which comes packed in a futuristic pod and pairs perfectly with a set of copper-toned goggles.
Kjus Backflip down jacket ($469) and Formula pant ($1,418/set including Savvy jacket), POC helmet ($309.95) and goggles ($130), Level racing mitts ($199.95), Rossignol Radical boots ($499) and skis with Axial2 120 bindings ($999.95) and Leki Vario poles ($164.95, all Sign of the Skier).

CN Tower EdgeWalk
Though some pretty sweet fall weather let the CN Tower extend its first EdgeWalk season (edgewalkcntower.ca) until mid-November, the attraction is now closed until May. That means you have six whole months to work up the gumption to take an extreme stroll around the perimeter of the structure’s 356-metre-high restaurant roof – if someone gives you an EdgeWalk gift certificate for the holidays. Reservations for 2012 are $175 a pop, and booking starts in February.
