PETITE FEAT E-retailer fashionjunkie.com -- specializing in slightly used designer duds by cool/funky labels including Teen Flo, Kookaï, Betsey Johnson, Club Monaco, Old Navy and Kate Spade -- gives consumers a chance to check out its goods in a non-virtual setting. The kicker here is that fashionjunkie.com only carries petite sizes. Nothing costs more than $150 -- which, with these labels, is good news -- and there's lots for less, with prices starting at $12. So if you're small of stature, juggling a budget and free Sunday (November 19) between 1 and 3 pm, you might want to head to the open house at 50 Holly. Use buzzer #0126. 992-3265.
LEATHER PLEASURE With this autumn's warm weather, retailers are having a hard time moving their winter coats. What's bad for business can be great for the consumer, though. We've spotted some fabulous deals on fashion-forward outerwear. Coliseum (Dufferin Mall, 536-54455, and others) is selling off men's leather coats for 50 per cent off, meaning that a stylish lambskin model can be had for $149, while there are several styles in the $199 range. Cherokee (225 Yonge, 862-2458) has one style of men's leather bomber, in brown or black, promotionally priced at 25 per cent off the regular $129 -- i.e., $97 -- through Friday (November 17). And for guys who don't wear flesh, Footlocker (Yorkdale Shopping Centre, 785-5260, and others) has knocked 30 per cent off its outerwear lines. VINYL VIBE For weeks we've been getting eager e-mails announcing Aaron Keele and Paul E. Lopes's DJ Record Sale, featuring thousands of hiphop, R&B, disco, house, soul, jazz, latin and reggae 12-inch and LP platters for sale from the crates of top T.O. DJs and dealers. Admission is free, and DJ Fase goes live on the wheels. Where else would you want to be Sunday? Noon to 4 pm, November 19. Cameron House, 408 Queen West. firstname.lastname@example.org
KITCHEN SINK Budget-conscious retailer Kitchen Stuff Plus already sells good-looking housewares for 20 to 50 per cent less than most places in town. Now they're offering clearance items from their warehouse outlet, located at 76 Orfus, where scratch-and-dent items are being drastically reduced -- like 90 per cent. The grand opening is Saturday (November 18). 907-5195. WANT IN? Fax suggestions to SWEET DEALS, NOW Magazine, (416) 364-1166, or e-mail email@example.com. Deadline is noon Friday.
