Halloween in the city

Halloween is here, so splatter yourself with some fake blood and check out some of the stuff that’s happening around the city tonight.[briefbreak]

Pride Toronto Halloween Party – As part of the Church and Wellesley’s Halloweek festivities, Cawthra Park will be host to a full day of spooky fun. Expect music, a costume contest, and drinks. All proceeds will go towards the International Human Rights Program at Pride. Noon-11pm.

Church-Wellesley Block Party – Five city blocks will be shut down again, as the village puts on the biggest and best Halloween party in the city. And, hey, it’s free. 6pm-2:30am.

Thriller @ Guvernment – Featuring Mstrkrft, Dirty South and more, it promises to be a raucous night. The person with the best costume also wins $5,000 in cash and prizes – not bad. Tickets to Thriller are $25.

Dead Celebrities Halloween House Party – Dress up as your favourite dead celebrity (I’m already picturing a lot of Michael Jacksons) and walk around the spooky halls of the Drake Hotel. Chicago’s DJ Willy Joy will be in tow. Doors open at 8pm, tickets are $5, $10 after 11 pm.

Ghosts and Beasties @ The ROM – Hear about the museum’s resident ghost, Dr. Charles Trick Currelly, and take a ghost tour. Family-friendly, scary, and educational. 11am-4pm, adults: $22, students/seniors: $19, children: $15, ages 3 and under: Free.

Monster Mash @ Lee’s Palace – Join the Goin’ Steady DJs for a retro costume party. So that means your getup better be fancy. Doors open at 9pm, tickets are $10 at the door.

Slow Dance of the Living Dead – Romantic ballads, slow dancing. And the undead. Makes for a good party, I’d say. WORN Fashion Journal will be celebrating the launch of issue 9 at Dovercourt House. Cupcakes, fortune telling, beer, and of course, lots of dancing. 9pm-2am, tickets are $10.
