Jo-Anne Palmer

Rating: NNNNN

WHO: Jo-Anne Palmer, owner and teacher, Studio Opal (1184 Queen East, 416-264-6725)

WHERE: Queen and Curzon

WHEN: Tuesday afternoon

CLOTHING: “My orange and red necklace was made by my daughter, Alika. The blue necklace was made by Avery, a young designer whom I mentored. I found the beaded necklace at Thrill of the Find (1172 Queen East, 416-461-9313), and I made my anklet. I also made my shirt out of silk charmeuse, and the orange bottom is cotton/lycra blend – it’s my interpretation of a kimono-style top. My Moto jeans are from Winners ($50, Dufferin Mall, 416-534-9774, and others). The flip-flops were a find at Old Navy (Eaton Centre, 416-593-2551) for $7. The big ring on my left hand is from H&M ($7, 1 Dundas West, 416-593-0064, and others).”

HAIR: “George at Perm & Cuts (1157 Ellesmere, 416-750-8953).”

MY STYLE: “Constantly changing depending on how the wind blows in my soul.”

INTO: “Dabbling in auto mechanics. I rebuilt the engine of my Jeep, learned how to rebuild a carburetor, install brake lines – everything. Now I know what a U-joint is. LOL! My studio is involved in the Buy Design charity event benefiting Windfall Clothing Service on Saturday (April 29), 8 pm, at the Distillery (55 Mill, 416-364-1177).”
