WHO: Kathy Chau, hair and makeup artist at Giovanni Artists Management
WHEN: Monday, 3 pm
WHERE: My own private hideaway in Parkdale
CLOTHING: "This chocolate-brown kimono blouse is one of many gems I unearthed on a tour through Southeast Asia. I bought these tuxedo-stripe Mavi jeans at the local clothing shop in my hometown, Port Elgin. My bone-coloured leather stilettos were $99 at Zara (50 Bloor West, 416-916-2401, and others). I made my metal feather-duster earrings (call 416-580-2436 for more info). My sterling silver chain bracelet was $150 at Red Pegasus (628 College West, 416-536-3872). My white gold thumb ring was a gift brought back by an old boyfriend from a trip to the Middle East. The sterling silver Atlas ring from Tiffany (85 Bloor West, 416-921-3900) that I wear on my index finger was given to me by a close friend for my 30th birthday. My sterling silver mesh ring from Tiffany was a gift to myself and cost $200."
HAIR: "After years of cut and colour experimentation, I strive to keep my hair regime as low-maintenance as possible. Last official haircut? About five months ago by hair genius and good friend James R. Lewis (416-924-2649), who works out of his home."
MY STYLE: "I am a chameleon at heart as well as a consumer. I'm intrigued by what's fresh off the runway, but my style is less trend-driven and more about how I feel. In my dressing room archives you'll find items only days old as well as those from decades past. In the flesh, don't be surprised if you don't recognize me from one day to the next."
INTO: "Sensory stimuli. I can't survive without music, travel, design and reading. My latest obsession is designing jewellery."
