Not all clearance outlets are created equal, and we think we've found one of the best. Warner's -- maker of lingerie lines including Olga, Fruit of the Loom and Calvin Klein, as well as its own label -- offers some blistering steals at the Dixie Value Mall clearance outlet. Current bargoons include tank-style cotton/spandex body suits from Calvin Klein's Athletics line, $5 each, in grey only. There's also a full size selection in Fruit of the Loom sheer chocolate brown front-closing brassieres with matching thongs, two for $6 -- a genuinely unbelievable price. 1250 South Service Road. 905-891-2885.
Canny collectors know that one of the best opportunities to buy direct from artists comes with the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, held annually at Nathan Phillips Square. This year's -- the 40th edition -- features more than 500 artists and artisans, selected from 1,200 applicants. Some of the exhibitors are seriously A-list: painters Dana Holst and brothers Clint and Scott Griffin; glass artist Andrew Kuntz; ceramicist Thomas Aitken, jewellers Moira Roe, Vivienne Jones and Katharina Möller, and milliner Lezlie Preboy. 100 Queen West.
Our sources assure us that Aaron Keele and Paul E. Lopes's periodic DJ Record Sales at the 360 have tons of good deals -- if you know what you're looking for. The selection is heavy on funk, soul and other club-oriented music, with many collectible and long-out-of-print titles, with DJ Fase live on the wheels. $3. July 7, noon to 4 pm. 326 Queen West. @
