Mary Lynne Beiner

Rating: NNNNN

WHO: Mary Lynne Beiner, yoga teacher/counsellor WHERE: Dundas and Dovercourt WHEN: Thursday afternoon

Clothing: “My black Blundstones boots were $165 at the Australian Boot Company (791 Queen West, 416-504-2411, and other). My wool work socks are from Mark’s Work Wearhouse in Owen Sound, where I was born. They came in a pack of three that I think cost about $12 or so. My black Echo Reds were a steal at $30, from Winners (57 Spadina, 416-585-2052, and others). My underwear, blue American Apparel bikinis, were from Nearly Naked (749 Queen West, 416-703-7561) for about $8. My bra is Black by Frega. It was about $100 at Secrets from Your Sister (476 Bloor West, 416-538-1234), the only shops where I can find a brassiere that will harness these monsters without making me look like I’m wearing armour. I bought my pink V-neck at American Apparel (499 Queen West, 416-703-5146, and others) for around $30, but I no longer shop there because their ads are stupid. This big fuzzy coat by Groggy was $20 at a sample sale somewhere on Richmond West. Both my bracelets were made by creative genius/dear friend Page Dixon. The angry girl wrist cuff has a big cartoon ‘Nooooo’ written on it. The other bracelet doubles as a row counter for knitting. My leather belt is my boyfriend’s. I got my water buffalo earring at Shanti Baba (546 Queen West, 416-504-5034) for about $20. The blue paisley scarf was my mother’s, as were the rings, except for the turquoise ring that was purchased somewhere on Bloor for about $30. About my tattoos: the crow on my chest was done by Scott Duncan, who now owns the Sugar Shack in Kincardine, Ontario. My pomegranate tattoo was done by Wes Virtanen at Lucky 13 Tattoo Shop (533 Bloor West, 416-537-7376).”

Hair: “Donna at Coupe Bizzarre (704 Queen West, 416-504-0783). Claudia at Viva Hair and Aesthetics (121 Ossington, 416-532-8482) is the only person I trust with my eyebrows.”

My style: “Rebel girrrl with a irrepressible jiggle.”

Into: “Marrying my boyfriend, John, at the Hitching Post Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas on Easter weekend.”
