When you hear “bike gang” you probably think of cartoon Hell’s Angels types, rolling around town intimidatingly, occasionally smashing stuff with chains. Toronto’s Deadly Nightshades are a different kind of gang: using their visibility to promote bike culture, advocacy and a general feeling of camaraderie amongst cyclists. We talked to them in their Chinatown HQ about what it means to be a contemporary bike gang, and how their keen sense of style serves their larger mission.
