Meet Bobi, the oldest dog in the world who turned 31 years old last week and doesn’t look a day over 10.

In fact, he isn’t just the oldest living dog but the oldest dog known to humans, according to Guinness World Records.

He was born on May 11, 1992, and has lived in the rural Portuguese village of Conqueiros his entire life.

According to a dog years calculator, Bobi would be 85 years old and nine months in human years.

Bobi’s owner, Leonel Costa, was just eight years old when Bobi was born.

“Bobi is special because looking at him is like remembering the people who were part of our family and unfortunately are no longer here, like my father, my brother, or my grandparents who have already left this world,” Costa shared to Guinness.

To ring in the occasion, he planned a traditional Portuguese party where they served local meats and fish.

Bobi only eats human food and enjoyed plenty of it.

His owner also said more than 100 people were invited to attend the event, flying in from foreign countries.

One of the biggest contributing factors to Bobi’s long life is thanks to the “calm, peaceful environment” he lives in, according to Costa.

He freely roams the forests around his house and has reportedly never been chained or leashed.

However, his owner revealed that Bobi’s fame has taken a toll on his health now that he does many meet and greets and has his picture taken often.
