WHO: Micah Hollenbeck, actor/model/graphic designer, represented by Giovanni
WHERE: King and Bathurst
WHEN: Tuesday afternoon
CLOTHING: “All my bling has more sentimental value than street worth. The watch is an heirloom from my grandfather Jonas I also wear his wedding ring. My bracelet, from my pregnant sister Tenneil (it’s a boy), is Guess, and my lucky Leo necklace is from an ex-girlfriend. The girl-watcher’ aviators are meant to be broken ($5, Aldo, 393 Queen West, 416-340-9882). My white belt is Prada – $100-plus from a sample sale. All my clothing has been custom redesigned by my brother Chase, a fashion designer/wardrobe renovator. The plain green tank is now worn inside out, with a hand-drawn print. The jeans used to be dark blue Levis. After Chase got done with the colour treatment, holes, prints, studs and flaring the legs, they’re fit for a rock star. The originally black shirt has an amazing colour treatment on it, and the buttons have been replaced with magnets, great for ripping clothes off in a hurry. Chase is available for clothing upgrades or fresh custom designs at chasehollenbeck@gmail.com. I got my wrestling shoes, Asics, for 100 bucks, I can’t remember where. They give good tongue but not a lot of lift, which is great for riding the city on my Sector9 Longboard ($230, Hogtown, 401 King West, 416-598-4192). The fresh scabs also courtesy of the longboard. (Let’s say around $15 for peroxide and dry cleaning).”
HAIR: “The mop is provided by the ever-so-talented Brian Phillips at World Salon (132 Adelaide East, 416-594-1402).”
STYLE: “City sidewalk surfer chic.”
INTO: “Loitering at Habitat Lounge (735 Queen West, 416-860-1551) or poolside at the Radisson breaking cement and boards with my ki energy giving piggyback rides to my niece Sydney searching for salt water, free booze and a sunburn after injuring my wrist doing my black belt test, looking for another pastime that’ll scare my mother.”
