Mitchel Raphael

Rating: NNNNN

WHO: Mitchel Raphael, editor-in-chief of fab

WHERE: A back alley near College and Borden

WHEN: Monday, 9:37 pm

CLOTHING: “This shirt was custom made by my roommate Marx Kruis of Rehab for my annual house party. His shirts are sold at studio de luxe (793 Queen West, 416-603-8244). My pants are old Club Monaco capris (157 Bloor West, 416-597-8837, and others) that I got before they were in fashion, and now that they’re out of fashion I’m holding onto them till they make a comeback. God knows what I paid for them, but I bought two pairs. I’m wearing the new Adidas Climacool shoes. They were promos sent to fab, but I would totally buy them.”

HAIR: “It takes a team, darling. Sunil Prakash of the Lid Lounge (115B Church, 416-367-5437) did my original cut, while Michelle Thompson of the Lid Lounge did my cock-feather mohawk the night this pic was snapped, and Trancis of W (721 Queen West, 416-361-9777) sliced in his famous disco ball grooves.”

MY STYLE: “If your clothes don’t get you laid, you picked the wrong outfit. Clothing is all about drag. One must have glamour outfits that only make annual appearances. Mine include a Vatican skirt from Siren (463 Queen West, 416-504-9288), a cow-print pimp jacket I got in L.A. and a leather police vest from Northbound Leather (586 Yonge, 416-972-1037).”

INTO: “I love leaving Toronto for a city in southern Europe so I can sit in a caf and read a book by a dead author. In the Big Smoke I prefer something classy like watching the strippers at Remington’s (379 Yonge, 416-977-2160). Several fab covers would be bare without those boys.”
