Monica Sosinski

Rating: NNNNN

WHO: Monica Sosinski, owner/designer of NaMoDA, www.namoda.biz

WHERE: College and Shaw

WHEN: Tuesday afternoon

CLOTHING: “I got these cowboy boots from a stylist gig for free. I found the jeans in London, England. My purse is called a Donut Bag. It’s made out of cotton and hemp. Geoff Agnew(www.urbannightmares.ca) and I collaborated on it. He did the textile, I sewed the bag. This ruff-neck tank ($72) is made out of soy fabric and silkscreened with water-based inks. It’s part of our line. I’m wearing a scarf top on top of it that’s from our fall 07 line ($126). The scarf is actually part of the shirt, so it’s like a two-in-one kinda thing. It’s made out of cotton and bamboo. I got this great jacket in Poland from a kiosk. Andrea Benelzen from Burnt Sienna (www.burntsiennajewellery.com) traded me these earrings for a Donut Bag. My necklace was a gift from the designer at www.bikodesigns.ca.”

HAIR:“Sarah Mitchell at Civello Salon & Spa (887 Yonge, 416-924-9244).”

MY STYLE: “Eco-geek-chic.”

INTO: “Art-gazing listening random dance breaks being part of Capoeira Camara (www.capoeiracamara.com). I love making clothing and accessories for women using eco-friendly and recycled fabrics. I’ve got a booth at the Green Living Show (April 27-29, Direct Energy Centre). I’m sharing a booth with other local green designers: Passenger Pigeon, Thieves and League of Lovers. We’re in booth 1409 – stop by and say hi.”
