WHO: Eric Allen, hairstylist at Bilalo in Kitchener, Ontario, and competitive hiphop dance choreographer at the Lisa Naves Dance Company in Simcoe, Ontario
WHEN: Tuesday, 10:30 am WHERE: Corner of Bay and College
CLOTHING: “My shirt is from Top Shop in the UK. This Spurs jersey cost $7 at Value Village (1319 Bloor West, 416-539-0585, and others). These wicked bondage-inspired pants were $130 at Acme Vintage Clothing (36 Kensington, 416-599-4220), and my belt, an authentic Elvis Presley in concert piece, cost $90 in Atlantic City. My Hurley wrist band is from NYC, and the one with the metal star was $4.99 at Ardene (200 Front West, 416-205-0665, and others). My bracelets are family heirlooms from Guyana. They’re priceless. My buddies bought me this choker in the Caribbean as a gift, and my gold ring was a gift from my grandmother from Guyana. I paid $160 for my shoes at B2 (Eaton Centre, 220 Yonge, 416-979-3544, and others). My wallet chain was $3.99 at Stitches (Dufferin Mall, 900 Dufferin, 416-536-5248, and others). My dress socks cost $12 at Winners (57 Spadina, 416-585-2052, and others).”
HAIR: “I’ve sported many hairstyles over the years, from the afro to the shirt collar to the Jerry Curl to the Gumby. I went to London, UK, for holidays and saw this style. I haven’t looked back since. I get it done at a salon in Brantford.”
MY STYLE: “Mix everything. There is no right or wrong in personal style. I’d say I’m a mixture of hiphop, punk rock, sporty, rock-a-billy and urban chic all in one.”
INTO: “Spending time with family and my amazing friends, meeting new people and dancing all night.”
