My Style

Rating: NNNNN

Who: Sharon MacDonald, aka Tanya Cheex, performer, creative director and founder of Skin Tight Outta Sight Rebel Burlesque

Clothing: My couture punk-style tartan suit is by Lip Service. I bought it for $200 at Exile, which is where I work when I’m not twirlin’ my tassels. Andrea Johnson of Lovesick Corrective Apparel (www.lovesickcorrectiveapparel.com) made my deadly red patent leather bullet-bra corset for $500. Once you own a Lovesick corset, you throw out the rest – the fit is beyond reproach. My fully fashioned back-seamed stockings (10 quid) are from Agent Provocateur in London. My peep-toe shoes were $50 at Le Chateau (336 Queen West, 416-971-9314, and others), where I also got my leather gloves for $40. My rare red L.A.M.B. bag by Le Sportsac was cheap on eBay for $60. My rhinestone earrings were $20 at Courage My Love (14 Kensington, 416-979-1992). My Vivienne Westwood necklace was $50 on eBay. I made my hairpiece with Swarovski crystals courtesy of Penny Star Jr. from L.A.’s Lucha VaVoom. She performs with me at Ay Carumba Knockout New Year.”

Hair: “Mikah at Mikah Styles (89 Granby, 416-960-2388) is my hair master. My tattoos are by Cheryl Volling at King of Fools Tattoos (568 Yonge, 416-323-8777) and by Scott McEwan (618 Queen West, 416-203-1615).”

My Style: “Princess punk pin-up or combustible bombshell.”

Into: “The second annual Ay Carumba Knockout New Year features Skin Tight Outta Sight vs the Tijuana Bibles, with special guests from Lucha VaVoom, Saturday (December 31) at the Gladstone Hotel.”

Who: Simon Christl, musician

When: Tuesday morning, too early

Where: Church and Carlton

Clothing: “My H Bar C gabardine jacket was a deal for $75 – usually they’re about $300 – on eBay. My California Ranchwear cowboy shirt was $50, a birthday gift from my girlfriend. Most of my cowboy shirts and these 517 Levis ($39.99) were bought at Exile (20 & 62 Kensington, 416-595-6172). My spectator shoes are vintage Stacy Adams and were a steal for $50 from a vendor at the Viva Las Vegas Rockabilly Convention at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino.”

Hair: Mikah at Mikah Styles (89 Granby, 416-960-2388) does my hair.”

My Style: “I pretty much just let my girlfriend dress me.”

Into: “I’m a musician. I just finished recording a CD called House Of Song. It’s sort of like Houses Of The Holy except it’s mostly traditional folk music and I don’t use one of those cool double guitars.”
