WHO: Myck Stoel, artist and designer of orb.bits and thisISradiomoscow and freelance display artist
WHEN: Sunday, 11:30 am
WHERE: At his Distillery District (55 Mill) "art cart," where he hawks his retro vinyl-album-inspired cards, lamps, jewellery, clocks and record bowls
CLOTHING: "I got my blue jeans at Honest Ed's (581 Bloor West, 416-537-1574) for $12. My shirt was made by Chris Read, designer at the National Ballet of Canada; the bright Sputnik vintage fabric came from Mitchell Fabric in Winnipeg (my hometown) and was $5 a yard. The reflective wristband with a snap-on 45 record centre is my creation and sells for $10 at my cart and INabstracto (1160 Queen West, 416-533-6362). My watch, a Dr. Seuss, 1 fish 2 fish, came from eBay and cost $28. This silver pendant was made by Roz Wolchock, and I traded some of my ornaments for it at last year's Christmas One Of A Kind Show (oneofakindshow.com), where we will both be again this year. And finally, I bought my sunglasses at Aldo (332 Yonge, 416-596-1390, and others) for $15."
HAIR: "Some little joint on Ossington called New Look Hair Fashion (200 Ossington, 416-532-2344) for $16. The highlights are free from all the outdoor vending."
STYLE: "Funky indifference."
INTO: "Junk shopping, film, hanging at the Beaver Caf (1192 Queen West, 416-537-2768), and preventing my tiny apartment/studio from imploding as I create stock for my final weekend at the Distillery and the Rolling Stones artist market as well."
