WHO: Perry White, sax player and session musician
WHERE: Broadview and Withrow
WHEN: Friday afternoon
ABOUT MY BIKE: "I was in Germany doing a steady gig with Cirque du Soleil and picked up this really old bike from the war days. I thought my friend who owns a bike shop there would get a kick out of it, so I brought it by. While I was there, I met Michael Camper, who makes these cargo bikes. I had to bring one back to Canada. It's such a great way for me to bring my gear around, especially my baritone sax, which takes up a lot of real estate, if you know what I mean."
INTO: "Playing music - I'm in 10 bands and going on tour this summer with Holly Cole; cycling - whenever I'm on the road I try to find time to do it; the Pyrenees are my favourite; playing hockey in Moss Park (Queen and Sherbourne) with the "jazz hockey" team; going to Jet Fuel Café (519 Parliament, 416-968-9982); on Sundays I play at the Cobourg (533 Parliament, 416-913-7538) - come check it out. It's a great, cozy wine bar."
