CLOTHING: “My wedges were $150 from Over the Rainbow (101 Yorkville, 416-967-7448). My high-waisted 70s denim skirt was $30 from Spa_ce Vintage Clothing Gallery (608a Markham, 416-916-6219) I got my belt there too for $15. It’s my favourite vintage store. Lovely owner Ashlene Roberts often puts aside brilliant things for me. My leotardish T-shirt is from American Apparel ($38, 533 College, 416-920-7007, and others). Some of my bracelets are from Trove (793 Bathurst, 416-516-1258) and cost between $45 and $110. When I used to work there, I stocked up on enough jewellery to last a lifetime! My thin gold-and-green bangles were $8 from the new Forever 21 store (302 Yonge, 416-260-9019). I’m happy I don’t have to cross the border any more to get them! I got my Liberty floral bag in London when I lived there a few years ago.”
HAIR: “June Croken at Wax Hairdressing (388 Richmond West, 416-260-1668) does a great job on my unruly curls. The cut grows out so well, I only have to go back twice a year. I’ve followed her to various salons.”
MY STYLE: “Good-time girl with a touch of class.”
INTO: “Saturday brunch with the ladies at Get Real Café (135 Ossington, 416-532-4564) or the Victory Café (581 Markham, 416-516-5787), followed by vintage dress shopping, biking around on back streets, going on road trips, dinner picnics in Bickford Park (Grace and Harbord), dancing, stretching at the Yoga Lounge (103 Church, 416-864-1973), singing at XO Karaoke (693 Bloor West, 416-535-3734). I’m combing the city for disco balls and fog machines for my party Fever: One Night At The Disco. It’s happening Friday (July 20) at White Orchid (812 Dundas West, 416-214-5890). $5 – 70s disco hits all night long!”
