Rita Koos

Rating: NNNNN

NAME: Rita Koos, artist

WHERE: Luna Café at Argyle and Dovercourt

WHEN: Noon, Thursday

CLOTHES: “This tank top, originally from Buy the Pound at Goodwill (234 Adelaide East, 416-362-4710, and others), was a trade for a pack of gum in front of the building. I got my skirt from Dancing Days (17 Kensington, 416-599-9827) in Kensington Market. It’s priceless. I bought my shoes at the Gap (375 Queen West, 416-591-3517, and others) for $20 and I’m still paying for it. My bracelet from Urban Outfitters (235 Yonge, 416-214-1466) cost $20, but with a friend’s discount it was much less. My insect ring was a gift from a girl in Vancouver who traps insects and makes rings with them. And finally, my mother found this bag for $3 at a garage sale eight years ago somewhere in North York.”

HAIR: “The whole city’s worked on my hair, especially Coupe Bizzarre (704 Queen West, 416-504-0783) and Paul Pecorella (106 Cumberland, 416-924-2751), and last time it was Toni and Guy (180 Bloor West, 416-929-4997).”

STYLE: “Something I love to talk about.”

INTO: “I like going to wild art openings like Scott Griffin’s on September 12 at 1080 Bus.”
