WHO: Shenaz Baksh, workshop coordinator of the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT), freelance camera operator and non-linear editor ( firstname.lastname@example.org)
WHERE: Liberty Village, King and Dufferin
WHEN: Thursday, noon
CLOTHING: "I got my hoop earrings in Guyana about 10 years ago. The dog tag was made at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington. This lovely pink brooch is from a beach vendor in Venezuela. My silver Gucci watch was bought at a wicked sale in Buffalo. The vintage-looking silver rings were a present from my friend Shaunna. I made this beaded string - it's my classic new fashion invention. My sister-in-law in Guyana gave me the silver flowery bracelet. My brown handbag is from one of those moms-thinking-about-daughters shopping sprees - you know, one for mom, one for me. Both tank tops are from Stitches (Dufferin Mall, 416-536-5248, and others) - they were $5 each. My favourite army pants cost $25 at Fairweather (Eaton Centre, 416-598-2804, and others). I got the solid black belt from a discount store on Finch and Highway 27 for $5. The second studded black belt is from a Point Zero sample sale - also $5. My sandals from Payless (200 Wellington West, 416-260-0086, and others) were marked down to $10. The new just-bought-for-this-pic toe ring is from one of the little shops in the middle of the mall and cost $9."
HAIR: "I blow-dry straight when I'm tired of the knots. I get my usual cut at Monica's."
STYLE: "Easygoing tomboy with an eye for elegance."
INTO: "Filming wild animals and amazing landscapes, screening a work-in-progress film shot on Super 8 blown up to 16mm at the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) annual Ward's Island picnic, Saturday (July 23). This film captures the spectacular beauty of the Kaieteur Falls in the heart of Guyana's rain forest. At dusk the projectors will roll with a screening of films from the 2005 99 Cent Film Festival. For information on the film festival and upcoming workshops, see www.LIFT.on.ca or call 416-588-6444."
