WHO: Sonya Côté, singer, actor and writer
WHEN: Thursday, 3 pm
WHERE: Outside Northbound Leather
CLOTHING: "I love these shoes! Believe it or not, they're so comfortable! I got them from George at Northbound Leather (586 Yonge, 416-972-1037) about four years ago. They retail for about $200. My black fishnets are DIM, which I think are the best-quality lycra. They cost $12 at the Bay (176 Yonge, 416-861-9111, and others). This little mini-skirt was a gift from my boyfriend. He got it at Hello Mary Lou (2225 Queen East, 416-691-9990) for about $70. The greenish-purple silk taffeta corset designed by guy named Puimond is available for between $300 and $400 at Northbound Leather. Isn't this coat amazing? It's a full-length corset coat also from Northbound Leather. You can get them for $1,200 off the rack. My necklace is made of Byzantine glass. It's by an Israeli designer and was a gift from my second ex-husband, who had great taste in jewellery. He bought it at Wearable Art (595 Bay, 416-971-9492). I'm also wearing black chandelier earrings that were about $50 at Eko (288 Queen West, 416-593-0776). Cosmetics? I only wear cosmetics that haven't been injected into bunnies' eyes."
HAIR: "I cut my bangs myself. I've been trying to grow my hair out, so I haven't had it cut in a while. I sometimes get it cut by James at James Gang Hair Company (2359A Queen East, 416-693-0670). I make my own red hair colour with Herbatint."
MY STYLE: "Vamp! I'm a former diva turned mom, but still hanging onto the diva. I'm from Montreal, so we wake up looking like this. Montrealers love high heels and mini-skirts!"
INTO: "My one-woman show and a book called Jezebel's Lament, about being the daughter-in-law of Margaret Atwood while working as a stripper; modelling in Northbound Leather's Peepshow, Saturday (October 25) at the Docks (11 Polson); yoga; reading voraciously and spending time with my amazing three-year-old daughter."
