WHO: Sophie Lanza, fashion stylist (www.sophielanza.com), fashion director of the Fashion & Design Festival (August 23 to 25, Yonge-Dundas Square)
WHERE: Yonge-Dundas Square
WHEN: Wednesday morning
CLOTHING: “I got my high-top Adidas runners in Montreal. The belt is from H&M ($15, 1 Dundas West, 416-593-0064, and others). My top is from 88 Queen Street (www.88queenst.com), which has an amazing collection. It was $125. Right now, the clothing is only available in Montreal, but soon it’ll be here in Toronto, too. In the meantime, check out the cute website. It has a girl flying on a guitar like a witch flies on a broom. On a recent trip to Tulum, Mexico, I picked up this necklace. Tulum is the site of a pre-Colombian walled Mayan city. The word is Yucatec Mayan for ‘fence’ or ‘wall.’ It’s believed that it’s been there since 564 A.D. That’s pretty incredible.”
HAIR: “I style it, and my sister Anne-Marie cuts it. She’s in Montreal.”
MY STYLE: “Functional and funky.”
INTO: “Spending time with my daughter, Olivia going to the pool for some aqua-form watching Têtes A Claques with my right-hand woman, Geneviève Allaire. It’s a French-language Canadian humour website that streams funny videos. The characters are all made of clay. Check it out at www.tetesaclaques.tv. And be sure to check out this weekend’s Fashion & Design Festival. Every night there’s a special event. For more info go to www.sensationmode.com.”
