The Distillery District's new Oasis Wellness Centre and Spa (55 Mill, building #36, 416-364-2626, www.experienceoasis.ca) opened February 3 and kicks things off with a set of Valentine-themed packages. Promotions range from the Crush, which includes a $100 gift certificate and a Body Treats home spa gift box for $159, up to the Affection, made up of a 60-minute hot stone massage, a facial and makeup session and the Experience Oasis Passport, all for $372.
We entertained ourselves between set-ups for NOW's Love And Sex shoot at the Gladstone Hotel by playing guess-the-filling with a heart-shaped box of drugstore chocolates. We should have scored the sweets at Comrags (654 Queen West, 416-360-7249, www.comrags.com), where boxes of chocolates come packed with store gift certificates to enjoy after your nibble. Anyone who's spied the gorgeous spring prints in the window knows that receiving a piece from the new collection would be as sweet as a caramel truffle.
Boutique Le Trou (940 Queen West, 416-516-7122, www.boutiqueletrou.com) owner Marlene Shiff's slogan for her Canadian-content fashion shop is "Boutique Le Trou Loves You." It's appropriate, then, that just in time for Valentine's Day, she's holding her first-ever sale - on now. All fall and winter clothing by lines including NADA, Karamea, Jason Meyers and Plush are marked down by 50 per cent. Hunt through $25, $50 and $100 racks for the best designer wardrobe deals in town.
Dead Bra Day
The panty pushers over at Secrets from Your Sister (476 Bloor West, 416-538-1234, www.secretsfromyoursister.com) have christened February 13 Dead Bra Day. To mark the occasion, they invite customers to dig through their underwear drawer for used styles and bring them by the shop to exchange for a 20 per cent discount on any of their brand spanking new bras. Old bras in good condition will be donated to local women's organizations, and the more tattered models could find their way into a Dead Bra Day window display.
