Second Harvest is the city’s largest perishable food recovery program, delivering donations from grocery stores, food manufacturers, hotels and restaurants to 121 social service agencies. While it’s not the cheapest ticket in town, Second Harvest’s annual Toronto Taste fundraiser lets you be fed and liquored by the best cooks in town at one time — divine intervention from the gourmet foodaholic gods. On June 9 at the Heritage Court at Exhibition Place, guests will wander around sampling treats prepared by the likes of chefs from North 44, Susur and Hemispheres — all for only $175 (cheaper than dinner at many of the participating restaurants).
