Feel free to congratulate Christina Tudor . After stepping in this past February as the manager/operator of Hazelton Lane's much-loved eco decor boutique Total Home Environment (T.h.e.), Tudor will be taking full ownership as of November 1. With more than a decade of working in the holistic lifestyle industry under her belt (talk about a CV with choice gigs: she was the bodycare buyer for the Whole Foods chain), this passionate veggie will be bringing a vast body of eco-friendly knowledge not only to her retail shelves, but to the people as well. She's looking to expand the product lines and boost community eco awareness with a guest speakers series. (Woody Harrelson, this means you. She saw your documentary and wants to help spread your message.) We can't wait to see this retail environment totally blossom and grow.
Tudor's picks: hand-woven natural- and organic-fibre sweater, $124.95 (hats from $34.95 to $149.95) by Indigenous Designs (a company committed to fair trade and preservation of the environment); Blue Canoe organic cotton crossover bra, $36.95, and boy shorts, $22.95; T.h.e. Organic Bodycare mouthwash, $9.95/473 ml (made by an herbalist on the Sunshine Coast); T.h.e. Naturals Travel Spritzer, $14.95; and reclaimed 50- to- 250-year-old Baltic pine furniture (hand-carved and stained with non-toxic finishes), $150 to $4,500.
Look for: organic cotton comforters, eye pads and ear swabs; eco-safe cleansers and laundry soap; and the occasional celebrity shopper.
Store hours: Monday to Wednesday 10 am to 6 pm, Thursday and Friday 10 am to 8 pm, Saturday 10 am to 6 pm and Sunday noon to 5 pm.
