That’s when growing Toronto footwear retailer Balisi opens its fourth store and first uptown location at Yonge and Eglinton (2507 Yonge, balisi.com). The launch also marks owners Cory Kierstead and Rehlee Balisi’s fourth year stocking great men’s and women’s buys from lines like Melissa, Fly London and Firetrap.

The Toronto Fashion Incubator (fashionincubator.com) gets in on the Vancouver Olympics hoopla by creating a vest for the staff in the Games’ Ontario pavilion. TFI members including Jas Banwait, Paris Li, Mana Mojaver, Sylvia Bora, Natalie Good and Rebecca Lipson all collaborated on the red quilted topper.

The TFI also hosts its annual Guilty Pleasures Sale at the Drake Hotel (1150 Queen West) Saturday (February 6) between 9 am and 4 pm. Maximize your sweet deal chances at Sherway Gardens’ (25 West Mall, sherwaygardens.ca) clearance sale. Stores like Bench, Town Shoes, Honey and more have merch marked down by as much as 80 per cent.

And at Doll Factory by Damzels (1122 Queen East, 416-598-0509, damzels.com), the store’s annual half-price-on-everything sale runs through Sunday (February 7).
