RAC goes south
Yorkville's RAC Boutique (124 Cumberland, 647-352-4433, racboutique.com) is bringing its stylish wares down to Queen West for a pop-up shop starting today (Thursday, March 28) at Love of Mine (781A Queen West, 416-368-4999, loveofmineboutique.com). Look for sale items plus a selection of new spring merch and 20 per cent discounts for MasterCard users as part of the Fashion Week-timed Stylicity campaign. A kick-off party takes place this evening from 7 to 10 pm. The pop-up will be open until April 7.
Dumaine for the weekend
Also popping up a few blocks west on Friday and Saturday (March 29 and 30) is designer Valérie Dumaine's (valeriedumaine.com) temporary store at Oz Studios (134 Ossington). Standout spring pieces from the Montrealer include skirts in shades of peach and blue, printed rompers and great short dresses. Things are about to get all sparkly over at the Textile Museum of Canada (55 Centre, 416-599-5321, textilemuseum.ca). The just-opened Shine exhibition features glittering fabrics including embellished Indian silks, silver Chinese robes and artworks made from discarded lottery tickets, soda drink cans and tin foil by Carmelo Arnoldin, Rhonda Weppler and Trevor Mahovsky, and Ghost of a Dream. The show continues until June 9.
