Deals on made-in-Canada menswear and accessories are deep, including shirting priced at $50, down from $225. Stop by daily between 10 am and 8 pm.

Annie Thompson reboot

Designer Annie Thompson is back. The once major presence on Queen West returns to the fashion racket with a new accessory collection launching tonight (Thursday, May 23) at the Annie Thompson Atelier (1 Wiltshire, studio 205) between 6 and 9 pm. The lineup includes scarves and jewellery hand-crafted with local artisans in Kolkata, India. Can’t make tonight’s opening? Visit the studio Friday and Saturday (May 24 and 25) between noon and 6 pm.

Standard Apparel sale

Showroom Standard Apparel (87 Wingold, Unit 1, standardapparel.ca) carries some pretty handsome brands, including Sunspel, Oliver Spencer, Filson, Fred Perry, Gloverall, Aigle and Mads Norgaad, and samples from all of them are up for grabs today, Thursday, through Saturday (May 23 to 25) at its seasonal sample sale. Thursday and Friday 10 am to 8 pm, Saturday 10 am to 4 pm. Cash, credit and debit are accepted.

Mark next Thursday, May 30, in your calendar for the opening of Mjölk’s (2959 Dundas West, 416-551-9853, mjolk.ca) newest exhibition featuring the work of Factory Zoomer glass artist Kazumi Tsuji. Her Men-choco pieces layer clear and coloured glass, and her Reclaimed Blue series uses recycled broken and defective glass. The launch takes place from 7 to 10 pm. 3
