It’s probably the Canadian in him. At the Remy Martin hosted pre-party for Forsaken – one of the festival’s last big bashes – Kiefer and Donald Sutherland spent most of their time in a corner booth at the crowed Ritz-Carlton bar. Producers, directors and fellow cast mates were in high spirits as they sipped Piper-Heidsieck champagne and cognac cocktails. The party lasted two short hours before the crew was whisked off to Roy Thomson hall in a cavalcade of black SUVs.
A small cluster of fans, some armed with signs and photographs, waited outside for hours to see Kiefer. Not one to let them down, he graciously took the time to shake hands, sign autographs and pose for selfies. He even let fans put their arms around him in the photos. As his PR team hurried to get him into his car and to the premiere on time, he managed to slip into the hotel’s smoking area for a quick two puffs and shake the hands of several hotel employees before climbing into his ride.
