Apr. 28 is national Superhero Day!
Caped crusaders, masked vigilantes, mutants, guardians, and immortal beings are all celebrated on this day, according to National Today’s website.
What’s more, today also recognizes “those who we look up to every day. No matter if they wear masks, capes, scrubs, or uniforms, everyone has someone they think of as a superhero.”
We hit the streets to ask Torontonians what powers they would have if they could be a superhero for a day and seemingly everyone wanted to be invisible or teleport.
“I would choose invisibility. People don’t have to see you and you can also hear what they’re saying,” one streeter told Now Toronto.
“I would like teleportation. If you’re really lazy in life you can just be in your bed and teleport,” another said.
One woman said she would like to time travel to the past and future while another said she would like to just go wherever she wants whenever.
This is an especially exciting day for Marvel lovers who can dress up in their favourite costumes or binge watch iconic movies like Black Panther, Spiderman, The Hulk, Antman, Ironman, Batman and more.
And if you can’t decide? Avengers has you covered.

FUN FACT
The first superhero ever was created in 1936.
“Phantom” had his own comic strip in a newspaper in America. This was apparently the first known superhero.
Today, there are hundreds of well-known heroes that have shaped the lives of many, notably young children with wild imaginations who also believe the sky’s the limit.
