Humble Beginnings comes to an end

Junction restaurant/live events space Humble Beginnings (3109 Dundas West) has shuttered after three years.

Upcoming live folk, singer/songwriter, jazz, soul, poetry and storytelling nights booked through late August have been cancelled.

“As of yesterday we’ve decided to shut our doors. We would like to thank our incredible staff, vendors and most importantly our amazing customers,” the owners wrote in a Facebook post on May 18. “We thank you for your patronage and supporting this endeavour for the last three years. And stay tuned for our next adventure in the culinary world.”

Run by mother-and-son duo Elisa and Darcy McFarlane, the restaurant offered a variety of cuisines made with organic, local and sustainable ingredients. Reached by NOW via email, the owners declined to elaborate on the reasons for the closure.
