KITCHEN

Rating: NNNNN

VIBE

The newest addition to the West Queen West strip, the Kitchen feels more bar-like than its name suggests. After dinner it turns into a packed party place, drawing an older, well-heeled crowd. During our visit, a DJ was blasting classic rock at maximum volume on the main floor while some bangin’ electro played in the basement, but expect the entertainment to vary depending on the night.

VALUE

No cover charge, but since a domestic beer will run you $5.25, it’s safe to say it’s not geared to bargain hunters.

BATHROOMS

The washrooms are clean and spacious, but it’s hard to see the doors in the dark. Look for the mural in the basement.

CAN YOU DANCE?

The music may be blasting at jet-engine volume, but the space is seemingly designed for the least floor space possible. Claustrophobic drinkers and dance maniacs may want to pick someplace a little less narrow.
