In the seven years leading up to the opening of his new Junction store, Opticianado, Jordan Paul collected over 500 pairs of vintage specs, from cat-eye models in fragile 1950s Bakelite to 1980s colour-blocked styles. What makes his retro lineup extra noteworthy, though, is that they’re all dead stock – not a single set of eyes has ever peeped through these frames. In addition to the period pieces, Paul sells new options from boutique lines Yellows Plus, Andy Wolf and Toronto-based Eyenigma. Vintage tortoiseshell glasses with flip-down shades, $260, 2919 Dundas West, 416-604-2020, opticianado.com.
