Patois is returning for a pop-up at Jackpot Chicken Rice

Ever since a devastating fire earlier this year, Patois owner/chef Craig Wong has been hard at work rebuilding the beloved Carib-Asian joint, while still managing to bring Hainanese chicken rice to the masses at his newest spot, Jackpot Chicken Rice (318 Spadina, at Dundas, 416-792-8628, jackpotchickenrice.com). The wait is almost over for those craving pineapple bun burgers and jerk lobster – Patois is set to reopen early in the new year – but an upcoming dinner pop-up means the wait is about to get even shorter.

From December 12 to 18, Wong will be turning Jackpot’s nightly dinner service into a Patois pop-up, serving some of the restaurant’s favourite dishes. Which ones? That’s getting turned over to you, the public, who will be asked to vote this week through Twitter, Facebook or Instagram. Follow them and keep your eyes peeled for more details – and in the meantime, snag your reservation on Jackpot’s website.
