Watch a major movie star look like hell in this character-driven piece about a man in mid-life crisis.[rssbreak]

Michael Douglas plays Ben, who hears from his doctor that his heart X-ray is irregular and proceeds to trash his business and his relationships. Soon he’s homeless and desperate.

It’s a tribute to Douglas’s skills that he can garner sympathy for this pathetic guy whose sexual tastes run way too young. There’s great supporting work by Susan Sarandon as Ben’s ex, Mary-Louise Parker as a power-tripping girlfriend and Imogen Poots as one of the too-young babes Ben likes.
