Torito Too

Veronica Laudes and Luis Valenzuela of Torito have confirmed that they have secured the lease at 962 Queen West, the former home of Brazilian bistro Caju. Red-hot Ursa, A-OK Foods and the County General share the block.

It’s been no secret that Laudes has been looking for another property for some time, having almost come close with the notorious Igor Kenk building at Queen and Strachan. Laudes also owns the building that houses Aaron Joseph Bear Robe’s Keriwa Café in Parkdale.

The as-yet unnamed resto is scheduled for a late-April/mid-May launch and will feature dinner as well as eventual lunch and a patio. But don’t come expecting Torito part two.

“We’re still working on the concept but definitely Spanish,” says Laudes.
