Glenn Sumi

Associate Entertainment Editor/Stage & Film

Glenn Sumi edits the film and stage sections, where he covers everything from big blockbusters, glitzy musicals and grand opera to fierce indie films and theatre, dance and comedy shows put on in back alleys (that's only a slight exaggeration). You can see also him every Saturday night talking about the week's top entertainment stories on the nationally broadcast CTV News Weekend With Scott Laurie.

Born in Toronto, he studied English Literature at the University of Toronto, where he was an arts editor at The Varsity before freelancing for various local and national publications. He's appeared on CBC, TVO and Global TV to discuss entertainment and pop culture and has served on many arts juries.

When he's not in a dark theatre, you can find him at the gym (yeah, right), munching on a grain bowl at Urban Herbivore, catching up on bad reality TV or searching for the perfect single Americano (coffee, not a person). He's annoyed by movies that are in 3-D and don't need to be, and will tell you to please shut up if you're talking during a show. During intermissions, he often tweets @glennsumi
