Inge, a 60-something seamstress, delivers a pair of pants to a 76-year-old customer, and minutes later they’re boinking like mad. Trouble is, she’s been happily married for 30 years.

Director Andreas Dresen handles the affair with rigorous naturalism. There’s no melodrama, no score, nothing to manipulate our emotions. We’re free to think and feel whatever we want.
Veteran German actor Ursula Werner gives us lots to work with. Every nuance of Inge’s joy, sorrow, guilt, shame and anger is plain on her face.
The result is a movie that’s rich and complex.
Alas, no extras, so we’ll never know what the cast thought of all that full-frontal nudity.
