You’ll find evocative stories, graceful animation and eerie atmosphere in these six black-and-white animated tales by noted European comics artists.

They’re all visually strong, but the most dramatic is Richard McGuire’s Light And Dark, which avoids the outline and shadow and depth of the other entries to present its tale of a luckless intruder in stark blocks of black and white.
You’ll learn a lot about the artists’ process if you freeze-frame in the working documents doc and check out the contest-winner videos. Some are pretty good.
