Cinemacabre Movie Nights
Rue Morgue Magazine's monthly CineMacabre Movie Nights at the Bloor offer Toronto's gorehounds their best chance to catch cult horror movies with a rowdy, raucous crowd. This year alone they've saved the excruciating French thriller Inside and the Clive Barker-based slasher The Midnight Meat Train from going straight to DVD, hosted the premiere of the homegrown Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer and given audiences their only peek at the Spanish chiller [REC] in advance of its American remake, Quarantine.
This month's selection is a blast from the past: John Carpenter's The Thing, screened in the presence of co-star Thomas "Windows" Waites.
Bloody great stuff.
