Dancing for the Darkness doc

Read on for Tuesday’s star sightings.

Bruce Springsteen, the subject of The Promise: Making Of Darkness On The Edge Of Town, gala’d about, attracting not-your-average-TIFF crowds to the Lightbox and red carpet.

Barney’s Version star Rosamund Pike curled up on a sofa at Soho House’s Toronto TIFF outpost while the locals in the room wondered why no nightspot in the city can match its flown-in-from-L.A. service and douchebag/hoochiemama-free crowd.

ETCanada toasting its 5th anniversary during TIFF had an air of celebrating your birthday at Christmas. Still, Cheryl Hickey, Rick Campanelli and friends partied for the cause at their Yorkville rooftop studio before the cast of Good Neighbours (Scott Speedman, Emily Hampshire) rolled in for their own bash.

I had to ask everyone who attended the InStyle party at the Windsor Arms what the event is actually like? The response was a mix of blank stares and “ho hums” that confirmed TIFF’s hottest ticket is more about boldface concentration (Malin Akerman, Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Phillippe, Camilla Bell, Bill Pulman, Zach Braff, Sarah Silverman, Gill Bellows, Shane West) than having a good time. Shocking!
