Morning after TIFFs: September 13

Party swan song

It used to be that you knew TIFF’s social scene was dying down when you were walking out of a barely boldface event in Yorkville on Wednesday evening and a bunch of inebriated tourists who had heard too late that the festival was happening stopped you and, almost falling out of their platforms, screamed, “WHERE’S THE PARTY?!?!” Needless to say, the intimate Stars concert that Vitamin Water hosted last night at Kitch was a much more enjoyable way to cap off this year’s long lineup up of bashes, soirees, cocktailers, galas, celebrations and fetes.

In attendance? A room full of TIFF journalists who all looked so relieved to be listening to a great Canadian band instead of trying to discern whether Kristen Stewart preferred the brown butter agnolotti or the burrata and beet salad at Soho House.

More TIFF tunes

Last night was also the finale for Festival Music House at The Mod Club Theatre. Playing off the three day long concert series hosted by Arts & Crafts were Shawn Hook, Jason Collett, Grand Analog, Young Empire and Down With Webster.

Who’s still here?

Rumours of every festival celebrity leaving town are a bit exaggerated. Octavia Spencer and Mary Elizabeth Winstead walked the Bay striped carpet for Smashed on Wednesday while Monica Bellucci did her premiere posing duty in black lace for Rhino Season.
