Morning after TIFFs: September 7

Looper two times

To Looper or to Looper? That was the party conundrum facing TIFF’s social set on opening night when not one, but two post-screening parties were hosted in the film’s honour. Bruce Willis, Joseph-Gordon Levitt and NOW cover star Emily Blunt made their first stop Soho House which, just hours before its do, looked like it might miss opening night as workers hammered away inside and tufted sofas littered the Adelaide Street sidewalk. The party then moved to the official bash hosted by Smartwater hidden away in plain sight above King West’s velvet rope-heavy hustle and bustle.

Shop like a star

Did Adrian Grenier plan to check out Toronto’s first Fashion’s Night Out festivities yesterday or did he assume the hoopla at the Burroughes Building was TIFF-related? The How To Make Money Selling Drugs producer was a surprise celebrity shopper at Rac Boutique’s The Bazaar where he had his pick of goodies from the Drake General Store, Life of Manek and more. Want to shop where the star’s shop? The event continues until Saturday (September 8).

Weekend star outlook

Toronto’s forecast might be calling for more fallish temperatures this weekend but a star heat wave is about to descend on the corner of King and Duncan. That’s where AMC and Virgin Mobile’s party spot Storys will be hosting oh so many TIFF shindigs. The bold face roll call: Julianne Moore, Alexander Skarsgaard, Annette Benning, Christina Hendricks, Oliver Platt, Elle Fanning, Dennis Quaid, Heather Graham, Zac Efron, Ed Burns and more. Now that’s efficient star spotting.
